Raphael Guillien

Raphael Guillien brings more than 20 years of senior leadership experience across tourism, hospitality and destination operations, spanning luxury hotels, integrated resorts, holiday parks and outdoor education businesses in both regional and remote environments. His background includes extensive experience in multi-site operations, asset optimisation, strategic planning, operational transformation and full commercial accountability across complex tourism businesses.

Most recently, Raphael led a diverse tourism and hospitality portfolio comprising resort and holiday park operations, food and beverage venues, and a large-scale outdoor education organisation. During this period, he oversaw significant business transformation, long-term master planning, operational improvement and revenue growth initiatives, while managing complex stakeholder, compliance and infrastructure environments.

Raphael’s experience includes luxury hotel pre-openings, over 100 outlet renovations/openings and major refurbishments, along with operational leadership in remote and environmentally sensitive locations requiring strong capability in crisis management, infrastructure planning, workforce leadership and commercial resilience. He has extensive experience working alongside private owners, boards, local councils, tourism bodies and government agencies, balancing commercial outcomes with long-term destination and community considerations.

Through Terra Beyond Co, Raphael brings a commercially grounded and operationally practical approach to strategic advisory work. His focus is on aligning long-term destination sustainability with realistic operational delivery, stakeholder alignment and financially sustainable business outcomes — ensuring organisations are equipped with clear strategic direction, achievable implementation pathways and commercially credible decision-making frameworks.

This is Raphael and Co Founder wife Renee and their husky, Genepi, in the Blue Mountains in Australia. Together they have lived in over 20 countries combined - speak more than a few languages - but call Australia ( & sometimes France) home.
